What’s Desert Rubble? It’s me, plain and simple, I’m Lynn and I’m a polymer clay artist (you can learn more about me here). What do I do? I work in polymer clay, I’m hoping to expand to apoxie sculpt this year. I make handcrafted jewelry and other unique stuff in a variety of styles including steampunk, cyberpunk, post apocalyptic, industrial, urban, medieval, and fantasy (or any combination of them!). I usually use mica powders and metallic wax for a faux metal and metallic finish because I love it! All my pieces are my own original designs, unique and handmade by me.

On my site you’ll find a blog that I will attempt to tend to regularly. I’ll be posting about my new pieces, and featuring polymer clay tutorials, books, tools, tips, and techniques. I also plan on writing a series of “How To Sell Crafts Online” articles outlining how I’ve gone about doing it and what I’ve learned in the process. I will also start featuring awesome steampunk art, movies, books, and games that I find. And of course there will be some jibber jabber about life and all that goes with it.

As I write this on January 15, 2012, I’m winding down a complete and total rebuild of my website. My goal is a well flowing and faster website that’s informative and interesting….nice looking would be a big plus =)

Once I’m comfortable with it and my store is up and running, I have my husband’s Mesa pool and landscape website to redo as well as my Desert Lovebirds Aviary website. Assuming I get all that done…..I’d love to spend some time working on tutorials to sell and some awesome new pieces, especially small sculptures. Trying to keep focused on goals at hand, though, and actually achieving them. So far so good, I think the website looks great and I think it’s a lot more accessible now than it was before, I had no idea how slow it was! Taking one day at a time.
